So you just got engaged! On behalf of the whole Camp Hosea team, congratulations! what an amazing journey you are about to embark on in marriage! For some, the new ring they wear on their finger is a symbol of the promises they are about to make with their spouse-to-be. Or, it can be a symbol of the life they are going to share as a couple and all of the memories they will create together. For others, that new ring can be a symbol of stress and painstaking anxiety over all of the planning that comes with having a wedding. It can be tempting to allow those feelings of excitement and exhilaration to turn into anxiety over the wedding planning process. In this post, we will discuss how to make the wedding planning process as stress-free as possible and give an overview of the rest of this blog series.
Perhaps the biggest fear that we face as we go about our lives is the fear of the unknown. Being engaged may make you feel as though you were put on the spot to create an extravagant wedding celebration despite having little to no experience with planning such an event. You may have no idea what steps you need to take to accomplish this task– What is your budget? Where are you going to have a wedding? How many people will you invite? Where do you even begin? What we would like to do in this series is provide you with a game plan– a roadmap of sorts to acquaint yourself with all of the steps involved. We will also show you what tasks can be delegated to other people and where to find the best resources that will take work off your shoulders. Our hope is that this information will bring some clarity to the process of wedding planning and thereby alleviate the anxiety brought on by the unknown.
The best place to start when planning a wedding is with your budget. Your budget will dictate how many people you can invite, your venue, as well as all of the extra details that will make your wedding yours. Once you understand what your budget will be, you will be able to create a series of steps and attainable goals that will help you stay organized and focused on the task at hand.
With these steps in hand, you can begin your wedding planning process! It is important to put those steps onto a calendar and create deadlines for yourself. These deadlines do not have to be strict, but they can inform you of when you are behind schedule and when it may be necessary to enlist more help. While you could put everything off until the last minute, as we all have, the goal is for you to get to enjoy your celebration and, more importantly, your time with your new spouse! One way you can do this is to seek the help of a wedding coordinator! Their job is to make your dream come to life and take care of the nitty gritty so you don't have to!
Camp Hosea now provides in-house wedding coordination! Whether you're a bride with every detail already mapped out or one who could use a little extra guidance, our expert coordinators are here to make your special day seamless and unforgettable. We can even help you start on that budget!
