So You Just Got Engaged? | Choosing Themes And Color Palettes

So you just got engaged? What an exciting and monumental moment for you! The entire Camp Hosea family is excited for you, and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for you and your soon-to-be spouse! At Camp Hosea, we do weddings, lots of weddings, and we know how chaotic the wedding planning process can be. We have created this series of blog posts to be a resource for you and hopefully alleviate the stress that comes with such an undertaking. For this blog post, We will look at the process of choosing a theme and making that theme come to life.

It could be said that the thing that says the most about a person is their aesthetic and style. That said, your theme should be inspired by what you want your wedding to say about you! As you choose a wedding theme, think about the most important thing for your guests to know about you and your spouse. Think about the things that bring the two of you together. Next, hop on social media and look for wedding themes that you feel will highlight those aspects of your relationship. At this stage, it can be helpful to assemble a collection of music-themed wedding pictures that catch your eye. If you especially like something a creator did, shoot them a message and ask them how they did it.

Unfortunately, not every creator who posts a picture of the wedding will know how a particular look was achieved– this is where a wedding coordinator will be a massive help. You can show them all of the pictures you have gathered and want to emulate and they will help you bring your ideas to life. It is also important to note that this is where that collection of pictures comes in handy, it is a lot easier for a coordinator to replicate a picture than it is to go off of a description.

Once you have decided on a theme, It will go a long way in helping you decide on a color palette.  As an example, if you decide to do a garden party theme you could draw on the colors commonly found in nature. Whereas if you choose to go for a more classic style of wedding, you may stick with a more neutral color palette. these are just a few examples but having a good idea of what your theme will be will help inform your decision about your color palette.

At Camp Hosea, we want you to have peace of mind in your planning process and for you to enjoy your wedding day without worrying about logistics. We are blessed with the help and insight of our in-house coordinator, Kenna.
